I hope everyone had a great holiday!
. I normally take the decorations down Christmas night or at the latest the next morning.
I know this is a little strange but once the celebration is over I am ready to have a
clean and organized house. Now that we have a smaller artificial tree I need to get
some of the ornaments sorted and donated. This is no easy job because we have hundreds
and hundreds of ornaments collected over the years. My daughter-in-law has requested
some of the Radko ornaments and I will be keeping a few of my favorites.
I did a little after Christmas shopping, though the store's selections seemed rather limited.
I purchased a couple of sweaters while out shopping Monday and also ordered two things
on-line from Wisteria . This cute tree skirt from Wisteria is perfect for my coastal design
Christmas and at 75% off it was quite a deal.
These little hearts remind me of French memorial markers.
I got away without too much damage to my pocketbook!
The Open House Party starts tomorrow evening. I hope to see you there.
Hugs,
Sherry

I can totally relate to getting the decorations down right away. Our trees are totally dead and we want them O.U.T. We're thinking of getting an artificial one for next year. What do you think?
Happy Holidays Sherry,
What a beautiful tree skirt, I'll bet you can't wait to use it next year. Wanted to take a minute to thank you for all the wonderful posts you have shared this year. I know it's truly a labor of love.
Best wishes for a wonderful 2012!
Fondly,
Laurie
Beautiful Sherry!! Love that tree skirt!!
Oh my gosh! That tree skirt is going to be just beautiful with you other coastal decorations! What a find and a deal!
Hi Sherry! I am with you on the house clean and organized. Been doing it all day. Why does it take so long to feel clean again is what I want to know LOL! Happy New year.
Hi Sherry,
I thought I was the only one who was ready to take down the decorations on Christmas night!
I'm with you on getting things cleaned up and put away.
Love that tree skirt. It's coastal perfect.
hugs

I wish I could take our stuff down, too. Not gonna happen here until after the little girls annual New Years sleepover.
I didn't do any post Christmas shopping yet. I am just trying to cut back on "stuff". xo Diana
I feel the same way about the decorations. When Christmas is over, I'm ready to get my house back. I probably wouldn't feel that way if I put my decorations up closer to Christmas than Thanksgiving though. ha! Looks like you found the perfect tree skirt for you beachy theme.
I don't know where my family got the notion it is bad luck to take the tree down before New Years day but I'm not risking it! ~ Maureen
Sherry, I love those little hearts!! I took all of my Christmas stuff down yesterday since my son was still here to put it in the attic. He just called and he made his 12 hour trek home safely, now I can relax! I'm ready to get back to my regularly scheduled life of crafting! LOL

Wow, I wish I could jump right in and take it all down. But it's just the opposite, I'm afraid. Seems like I just put it all up so I kinda feel like let's keep it up a while more (not the tree, of course, that has to go). Not looking forward to the job! Happy 2012, Sherry.
Love your after Christmas purchases. Our son and his family flew in Christmas Day Night and so Christmas has really started for me then and continues this week. After New Years I'll be thinking about taking it down. But I do love the way the house looks all decorated for the Holidays. And I know yours was so beautiful too. Thanks too for your comments on my blog. It means alot to me to have you come and visit.

Love all your post Christmas bargains! I went out to a few stores locally with my mom and also got some great deals on a lot things, as in 5 shopping bags full! Mostly more ornaments, mercury glass, etc....lots of pretty things. Its always fun to start with new decorations the following year!
The tree skirt is totally YOU. I actually bought the Winter Stag coffee cups and platter at Williams Sonoma at 50% off. They usually don't reduce by half so early but I am glad I got them because now they are sold out. I leave my tree up til Epiphany.
Hi Sherry,
I'm on the same page...our son, daughter-in-law and granddaughter are leaving today and as soon as the door closes I'm taking Christmas down. Like Kelly, maybe if I didn't launch Christmas the weekend of Thanksgiving I wouldn't be so tired of it by December 28th! :-)

Love those hearts. Would make a beautiful necklace.
I have been too embarrassed to admit that I take down my decorations on the 26th. I feel like such a grinch even though I love Christmas so much. Still, I cannot wait to get my house back in "order".
Love you blog!
too funny...I ordered the hearts too!!! I love them.
Love your new tree skirt.
Rhonda
I can't imagine taking the decos down. We always wait till the Ephiphany, it is tradition.
Here in NY this is the week people visit and enjoy the decorations. Do you then do different decorations for New Years Eve and day company?
Love your new tree skirt!
